At the end of my first year, I had to review my second semester, then create a scenography to support this presentation and showcase my work. The space was to be chosen within the school workshop, and then installed.
Intention
The second semester began with a theatre scenography brief for the play Dom Juan. That is why I chose this space: it allowed me to hang elements and create a brail curtain, a way of representing theatrical scene changes. The curtain was white, also to symbolise a fresh start, as I wanted to commit myself more fully that semester. The scenography was modelled at 1:10 before being installed.
Each course project helped me improve, refine my tastes and discover my abilities. This made me want to go further and learn to focus in order to fulfil my ambitions. To embody this desire for focus and refinement, I made each panel narrower than the last. The second panel, the one about my internship, is made of metal: during the research phase for the Dom Juan scenography, I realised I loved this material. I cut the metal panels by hand and linked them together with chains. The last panel is made of transparent paper, for its materiality, but also for transparency towards myself, to find the style that best matches my personality.
